Website Design and Layout

I designed everything on this website from the over all layout to the style of each page. As with most of my designs I went with a bit of a minimalist approach. I try to make the site nice looking, but not over powering as to distract the user from getting the information that they came for. All graphics were created by me except link pictures provided by outside companies. All photographs were provided by the owner or as otherwise noted on the site. The site was coded by hand using the text editor conTEXT. Coding was done using XHTML 1.0 Transitional and CSS; both of which verify at W3C.

Logo Design

The Logo for Beach Weddings by Joanie was created by me as well. It is a fairly simple palm tree with a sun rising behind it. I created it using Photoshop. Together with the scripted font I think the logo is very appropriate for the business that the company is trying to get.

PHP E-mail Form

The owner of the company wanted to have different ways for prospective clients to get ahold of her. She has of course a mailling address , phone number, fax, and email address. Besides all of these normal contact routes, she also wanted to have a form created where brides could fill in some standard information about their wedding that would be emailed to her. With this email she easily had in front of her all of the basic information needed to get started helping her new clients. This was created using PHP. The form would post to the script which would then parse all of the information and create an easy to read email that was sent to the owner using the mail( ) function.

Maintenance

I provide periodic maintenance of this site to the owner. She generally needs updated pictures, or new information posted from time to time. She is also very active in finding new things to do or add to her site, such as getting her site listed in directories. I take all of these new things and incorporate them in to her site.
